Can Amazon FBA make you Rich quick?

The most common question in our inbox, from prospective sellers that haven’t yet signed up to their own Amazon seller account? You guessed it.

“Can Amazon FBA make me rich?” Close second is “Can Amazon FBA make me a millionaire fast”.

The true answer, the only one that you should believe is no. You won’t be a millionaire fast.

But there is every chance that you can be one. This is dependent on the time and effort you’re willing to put into your very own business.

If you’re looking for a get rich scheme, opening an Amazon fba business will not be something you should consider. It’s a hands on business which will require you to dedicate significant resources to. However, the significant resources soon become significant income.

There are lots of people in the online community now advising others to buy cryptocurrency and offering 4000% returns. This is not something you’ll be looking at with FBA. We are the 15 to 35% hunters, with anything else being a welcome bonus. However, what Amazon FBA sellers do, is sell products in huge amounts, bringing in consistent profits.

Will FBA make me rich?

There are lots of amazon sellers making money from selling products on the Amazon Marketplace. (I struggle to see a world where someone is making a loss, as they would close their Amazon accounts).

However, it is a game where you need money to make money. For example, it’s £25 per month just to sell on Amazon, so you need to ensure you have sufficient bankroll to start. Then you have Amazon Fees for sales.

You can still make money on Amazon starting with £1,000… but this will be a lot harder than starting with for example £25,000. (Not many people actually start with £25,000) but this is to show you how it all compounds.

(End of) MonthPerson A (£)Person B (£)
1£1,150£28,750
2£1,322.50£33,437.50
3£1,520.88£38,021.88
4£1,749.02£43,725.78
5£2,011.37£50,378.57
6£2,312.07£57,800.71
7£2,656.88£66,422.84
8£3,052.42£76,310.35
9£3,506.28£87,657.94
10£4,027.22£100,793.94
11£4,624.30£115,605.93
12£5,307.94£132,006.17

If you have extreme discipline, I think you would be able to start buying and selling with £1,000 but this would be quite difficult. The good news, is that you don’t need to worrry about keyword research, making your own brand or even shipping costs… Amazon does it all.

Private Label products are a different beast, but not something that we will discuss today.

Everyone starts selling on Amazon with a set goal in mind. Mine? It was financial freedom. However, I have grown to realise that I personally won’t ever be satisfied by a set figure in my bank account, so I’m not sure I got what I was looking for.

What is Amazon FBA?

Amazon FBA is a program provided by Amazon that takes care of the storage, packaging, and shipping of products on behalf of sellers. By using Amazon FBA, sellers can store their inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment centers, and when an order is placed, Amazon handles the entire fulfillment process. This includes picking, packing, shipping, and even customer service and returns handling.

How Does Amazon FBA Work?

When a seller signs up for Amazon FBA, they send their products to Amazon’s warehouses. Once the products are received and processed, they become eligible for Prime and Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) benefits. Sellers list their products on Amazon’s marketplace, and when a customer places an order, Amazon takes care of the shipping and customer service, ensuring a seamless buying experience.

Advantages of Using Amazon FBA

Increased Reach and Exposure

By utilizing Amazon FBA, sellers gain access to Amazon’s massive customer base. Amazon is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, providing sellers with unparalleled reach and exposure to millions of potential customers.

Storage and Logistics Solution

One of the biggest advantages of Amazon FBA is the storage and logistics infrastructure it offers. Amazon’s fulfillment centers are strategically located, ensuring fast and efficient delivery to customers. Additionally, sellers no longer need to worry about storage space or packing and shipping orders, as Amazon takes care of these aspects.

Prime and Fulfilled by Amazon Benefits

When products are fulfilled by Amazon, they become eligible for Amazon Prime, which offers fast and free shipping to Prime members. This can significantly enhance the visibility and appeal of a seller’s products. Moreover, Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) products are marked as such on the platform, which instills trust and confidence in potential buyers.

Customer Service and Returns Handling

Amazon FBA provides sellers with the advantage of professional customer service and returns handling. Amazon’s dedicated customer service team handles customer inquiries and resolves issues, saving sellers time and effort.

Challenges of Using Amazon FBA

High Competition and Saturation

As Amazon FBA has gained popularity, competition among sellers has intensified. Many niches and product categories on Amazon’s marketplace are now saturated, making it challenging for new sellers to stand out and achieve substantial sales.

Fulfillment Fees and Expenses

While Amazon FBA offers convenience, it comes at a cost. Fulfillment fees, storage fees, and other expenses can eat into a seller’s profit margin. It is crucial to factor in these costs when pricing products and planning for profitability.

Inventory Management and Storage Limitations

Amazon FBA imposes certain limitations on inventory storage, particularly during peak seasons. Sellers need to manage their inventory effectively to avoid stockouts or excessive storage fees. If you buy items which sell lots monthly, you shouldn’t face this issue.

Product Listing and Optimization

Optimizing product listings to rank higher in Amazon’s search results requires effort and expertise. Sellers must invest time in keyword research, compelling product descriptions, and attractive images to maximize visibility and sales.

Is Amazon FBA a Viable Option for Making Money?

While Amazon FBA has the potential to generate substantial income, it is important to approach it with realistic expectations.
