So, you’ve made the leap and decided to open the gates to your new Amazon Business. At this point, it’s completely normal to feel a little bit confused as it will be a completely new process for you. This doesn’t have to be a cause for concern, as you’ve found us!
Learn Retail Arbitrage are here to help you get started with getting started on Amazon FBA. After signing up for your account, the next big thing is adding a product to your inventory.
This is essentially your online stockroom. It works in a similar way to eBay, if you have a live listing it will show here. In this article, I’ll be showing you how to add a product to your Amazon FBA Inventory. Just make sure you’re ungated first.
Let’s get started with adding a product to our FBA Inventory on Amazon
Total Time: 4 minutes
Find the ASIN for Your Product
The First Step Requires you to find the ASIN for your product. You can do this easily by using the Amazon search function. The ASIN is this part of the url (Highlighted above). It typically looks something like B09RFQ6BWL.
Prepare to Add the Product to Your Inventory
Using your Seller Central Account, navigate to Catalogue > Add Products. From here, you can enter the ASIN for the item you want to add. This will show you the item that you’re trying to list. From here, select the condition of the item and select Sell This Product.
(If this shows Apply to Sell, please check out the Ungating Guide).
Set Your Price & Item Specifics
Next, you are going to input your item specifics. This includes Your Unique SKU, The Price you want to sell the item for and the condition of the item. Note; You can leave the SKU Blank, but as this is hidden to you it’s good to make a naming convention for ease of use.
A Tip is to use something like SMY-30-221221 (To me, this means I purchased at Smyths for £30 on the 22nd December 2021). After pressing confirm, you need to wait 3-5 minutes for the item to add to your Inventory.
Confirm Your FBA Inventory
To confirm that the item has added successfully, head to your Amazon FBA Inventory page. This will show the item listed and the status should show as Inactive (Out of Stock). This will remain out of stock until Amazon check this in at their fulfilment center.
That’s all you need to do, to add a product to your inventory. Beyond this, you’ll need to Book the Amazon FBA Shipment, and you can read the mini-guide for that here.
